Stilton helps Chelsea Pensioners ring in the festive season

Our Blue Stilton took centre stage during this year's annual Ceremony of the Christmas Cheeses, at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London this week.

Stilton helps Chelsea Pensioners ring in the festive season

The Ceremony of the Christmas Cheeses began in 1692, when the Royal Hospital asked local cheesemakers to provide its Chelsea Pensioners with cheese to eat over the festive season. The tradition has continued ever since, and this year we were happy to help show our appreciation for our ex-servicemen and women by donating 7kg of Blue Stilton for the Chelsea Pensioners to enjoy this Christmas.

"The Ceremony of the Christmas Cheeses is a fantastic event," said Cropwell Bishop Director, Robin Skailes. "It is an occasion that cheesemakers have been involved with for over 300 years and I am pleased that we could play our part in helping to make the occasion, and start to the festive season, such a great success."
